In an attempt to help economically poor students easily pass Plus-Two examinations, the Department of Education in association with Dr. Nallini Institute of Engineering and Technology on Thursday distributed a set of ‘handbook for success for Class 12 students’ free of cost, to them.

The handbooks were given to head teachers of 98 government and government-aided schools in Tirupur district and to select 132 schools in Coimbatore, Erode, Karur, and Dindigul districts.“We have printed one lakh set of handbooks for distribution,” said S. Appuswamy, chairman of Dr. Nallini Institute of Engineering and Technology.

Chief Educational Officer N. Anandhi said that each set of handbooks contained four volumes covering mathematics, English, physics, and chemistry, which were generally considered tough subjects by the students appearing for the Plus-Two examinations. The books carried question banks featuring commonly asked questions as well as tips on how to solve certain complex problems.

Indicators were given at the end of every model question to help the students get an easy reference to the answer in the main text books.
