A grievances redressal facility for the soldiers of the Madras Regiment has come into being at the Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) in Wellington.
It was inaugurated recently by the Deputy Chief of Army Staff and Colonel of the Regiment Lt. General J.P. Nehra.
Addressing the gathering, he commended the role of the Pay Accounts Office (PAO) in Wellington for being prompt and efficient in carrying out its mandate notwithstanding constraints like acute shortage of staff. He appreciated the effective use of technology.
M.S. Saravanan, Financial Advisor to the Army in Wellington, listed out the measures initiated to improve the functioning of PAO.
He added that the Grievances Redressal Cell will address all the complaints.
The system would strengthen the internal monitoring mechanism and consequently improve accountability.
