A greening drive has been taken up at the District Collectorate campus with Collector District Collector Jayashree Muralidharan launching the second phase of sapling plantation on Friday. The Collectorate campus was declared open about a year back and about 60 saplings have already been planted. In the second phase, about 275 saplings of various shade giving and flowery tree varieties are to be planted. According to district officials, tree guards have been provided to protect the saplings. J.Sekar, Joint Director of Agriculture, and other officials were present.
