Officials instructed to utilise services of the beneficiaries in the construction
Special beneficiaries such as the transgender and narikurava community members would soon have their own green houses , Collector S.Jayandhi said here on Thursday.
After inspecting the progress of the green houses construction work for transgender at Manavasi village and for the narikurava community members at Malaipatti village, Ms.Jayandhi enquired with the beneficiaries the progress and quality of work.
Ms.Jayandhi assured them that all efforts would be made to expedite the civil work and hand over the completed houses to the beneficiaries. While 20 green house are under construction for the transgender at Manavasi village, another 24 green houses are being constructed for the narikurava community members at Malaipatti village.
The Collector directed the officials to ensure quality of construction for the welfare of the special category beneficiaries.
They have also been instructed to utilise the services of the beneficiaries themselves in the construction activity.
During days when there was no construction activity the beneficiaries could be roped in for work under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Generation Programme, she said.
Ms.Jayandhi also advised officials to ensure that the wards of narikurava community members be enrolled in special schools to help them get regular schooling.
Education would help them join the mainstream of social activity, she noted.
Additional Collector (Development) T.G.Vinay, and Executive Engineer, Rural Development, M.Kavitha, were present.
