A special gram sabha meeting was organised here for the 33 revenue coastal villages in Nagapattinam on Wednesday.

Identity cards

Participating in the meeting held at Pradhamaramapuram, District Collector C.Munianathan said the meeting was organised to place the list of names along with photo identities for issue of identity cards.

The meeting would ensure if the names listed included residents of the village; any changes need to be affected in the list and to check if outsiders have been included.

Fingerprints of the residents of the 33 coastal villages have already been ascertained for the issue of identity cards.

Eligible persons

Mr.Munianathan urged the people to ensure that only eligible persons benefited from government schemes.

In cases of ineligible persons availing of benefits, oral or written complaint could be preferred. V.Rajendran, District Revenue Officer, was present on the occasion.
