For exceeding the ‘Flag Day’ fund target in 2006

TIRUNELVELI: Collector M. Jayaraman has received the Governor’s certificate and medal for exceeding the ‘Flag Day’ fund target during the year 2006.

Mr. Jayaraman has been selected for this award for having exceeded the ‘Flag Day’ collection and mobilised Rs.5.86 lakh above the target.

The Tirunelveli District Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association Assistant Director Major V. Jayakumar handed over the Governor’s medal and the certificate to the Collector on Thursday.

Receiving the prestigious award, Mr. Jayaraman said the Tirunelveli district, which was given a target of Rs.37.35 lakh during December 2008 to December 2009, had so for mobilised Rs.24.69 lakh and hence the district would positively achieve its target.

“We’ve taken additional steps to achieve the target,” he said.

The Collector also handed over the certificates and medals to Joint Director of Agriculture S. Velusamy, Assistant Registrar (Inspection) N. Muruganandam, Executive Engineer, Tirunelveli Corporation V. Narayanan Nair, District Project Coordinator of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan V. Jessolite Selvi and others, who too have achieved the ‘Flag Day’ fund target.

Project Officer, District Rural Development Agency, C.K. Veeranan, Project Officer, Mahalir Thittam G. Muthu Meenaal, Regional Director for Municipal Administration T. Mohan, District Public Relations Officer U. Ravindran, District Forest Officer (Social Forestry) Dinkar Kumar and others were present on the occasion.
