‘It will provide jobs to many and facilitate social security’

Udhagamandalam: The need to fill vacancies in various government departments was emphasized by the State President, Tamil Nadu Government Employees Association (TNGEA) K.Rajkumar while addressing a press conference here on Saturday.

He said that it would provide jobs to many and facilitate social security.

The anomalies in the implementation of the pay commission’s recommendations should be set right.

In order to prevent private hospitals from cornering all the profit under the new health insurance scheme, it should be fully implemented by the government itself.

The existing pension scheme should continue.

The government should take steps without delay to seize the black money worth Rs. 108 lakh crore lying in Swiss banks.

He urged the government to check price rise.

All the demands will be taken up at the three-day State-level conference of the association scheduled to be held in Coimbatore from September 17 to 19.

About one lakh government employees and teachers are expected to take part in a rally which would form part of the conference.

Earlier, Mr.Rajkumar addressed a seminar.

The TNGEA district president R.Karunakaran presided. The district secretary Singaravelu welcomed the gathering.
