Members of the Tamil Nadu Government Employees Association observed a fast in both the districts on Monday pressing various demands, including removal of pay anomalies.
In Krishnagiri, over 100 members of the association participated in the hunger strike.
S. Hari Rao, state executive committee member, Bank Employees Federation of India, inaugurated the strike.
M. Anbarasu, state secretary of TNGEA, and R. Natarajan, state vice-president, Tamil Nadu Sericulture Officers’ Association, spoke.
R. Nagarajan, district president presided. C.P. Jayaraman, district secretary, TNGEA, explained the demands. Office-bearers of various associations participated in the agitation.
In Dharmapuri, the hunger strike was held near the Collectorate. Sekar, district secretary, presided.
