The Department of Information and Publicity, a department having the responsibility of disseminating accurate information about the government’s policies and programmes has failed to make an important update. The official website of Department of Information & Publicity of the Government of Puducherry is yet to reflect the name of the present Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory: it still reads that Dr. Iqbal Singh is the Lt. Governor of the UT.
A view of the page reveals that Dr. Iqbal Singh, who was transferred in July 2013, is still the Lt. Governor of Puducherry.
His portrait decorates the page of Lt. Governor, which should, by now, have the portrait of the current Lt. Governor, Virendra Kataria.
Much information found on the website, which was updated last on November 17, 2012, is incorrect.
As per the website, Chief Secretary of Puducherry is M. Sathiyavathy, when Ms. Sathiyavathy had been transferred to Mizoram in February this year.
Chetan B. Sanghi, who assumed office in May, is yet to find his name and portrait replacing her.
Similarly, the portfolios of Secretaries that keep on changing from time to time have not been updated for long.
Out of the 14 IAS officers and Secretaries, 5 of them, including Development Commissioner-cum-Finance Secretary Raajiv Yaduvanshi and Resident Commissioner K.R. Meena, had already been shifted to other UTs and States long ago.

The website of Department of Information & Publicity indicates Iqbal Singh as LG
