The Government exhibition will begin in the city from the second week of December.

At a meeting held at the Collectorate on Wednesday, Collector K. Maharabushanam said that the 45-day exhibition would have 20 government stalls and 70 private stalls apart from an exclusive Information and Public Relation Department stall. He said that the stalls would be handed over to the department concerned by December 5 and works would be completed at the earliest to commence the exhibition. Handicrafts made by women Self-Help Groups would be kept on display during the exhibition.

The annual exhibition is usually conducted during the Mariamman temple festivals in August in Kottai Maidan.

However, for the first time the exhibition is held in December and January.
