A total of 30 stalls exhibiting achievements of various government departments, 69 private stalls and entertainment activities were part of the government exhibition that began at Bose Maidan here on Sunday.

Minister for Information, Special Programme Implementation K.T. Rajenthra Bhalaji inaugurated the exhibition at Bose Maidan in the presence of Minister for Highways and Minor Ports Edappadi K. Palaniswami, Collector K. Maharabushanam, MLAs and others.

Organised by the Information and Public Relations Department, the stalls portray the ongoing projects, various welfare schemes of the government departments, success stories of beneficiaries of various schemes, besides the development activities happening in the corporation limits and at the district level.

Games

Apart from the stalls, visitors can also enjoy the games and entertainment activities organised on the premises.

During the inaugural function, speakers explained the schemes that were targeted at benefitting the downtrodden and various measures taken by the Chief Minister for the welfare of the State, including attracting foreign investments and announcing new power projects, besides fighting for the State’s rights in the Cauvery water issue at the highest level.

The district administration has made arrangements for providing drinking water and other basic amenities at the venue as people can visit the exhibition between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. daily.
