Officials of the Krishnagiri court attached a bus belonging to TNSTC, Salem Division, on Monday for failing to pay compensation to an accident victim.

According to R. Selvakumar, lawyer, S. Senthil alias Senthil Kumar and his friend Syed Ali were killed when the TNSTC bus bound for Tiruvannamalai from Krishnagiri near Gollappatti village collided with a mini van on October 10, 2007.

A case was been filed by S. Suganthy, wife of Senthil Kumar at the Additional District Court in Krishnagiri. The then Additional Sessions Judge N. Ramachandran, on July 20, 2010, ordered the TNSTC to pay Rs. 7.94 lakhs along with an interest at the rate of 6 per cent.

Even after six months, the TNSTC failed to settle the compensation. An execution petition was filed in the Additional District Court on February 14, 2011.

Mr. Arul Raj ordered the attachment of the TNSTC bus on March 27, 2012.
