The State government has announced a award of Rs. 20 lakh to anyone furnishing information leading to the arrest of four suspects involved in the murders of BJP’s state general secretary ‘Auditor’ Ramesh in Salem and Hindu Munnani State secretary Vellaipappan in Vellore.
According to a press release, a reward of Rs. 5 lakh (for each suspect) will be given to those who furnish useful information leading to the arrest of ‘Police’ Fakruddin (35), Bilal Malik (25) of Madurai, Panna Ismail (38) of Melapalayam and Abu Backer Siddique (45) of Nagore.
Apart from this, a reward of Rs. 2 lakh would be given to those who provide input leading to the arrest of other persons involved in the murders of ‘Auditor’ Ramesh and Vellaiyappan. On the orders of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, a Special Investigation Division was formed to investigate the murders.
The SID was making efforts to trace the four suspects who were also involved in the attempt to blow up the convoy of BJP leader L.K. Advani near Madurai in 2011 and some other cases. Information on the suspects could be furnished on phone numbers 044-28447739, 97104 55000 and 94445 85954.
The details of those who furnish such information would be kept confidential. The police warned that the suspects were involved in cases of possession and planting of bombs and hence giving shelter or accommodation for their stay was fraught with danger.
