Health and fitness are two aspects considered important for aspirants

TIRUCHI: Aviation and hospitality industries would see a tremendous growth in the coming years and job opportunities in these sectors were promising, the Manager of Air India-Tiruchi, R. Natarajan, said.

Speaking at a workshop for air hostess aspirants organised by Frankfinn Institute of Air Hostess Training here on Sunday, he said that a positive attitude and ability to strike instant chord with people were key criteria for getting into these industries.

Tiruchi gaining importance

Tiruchi was developing into one of the major international airports in the country. Air traffic in the airport would grow exponentially and expansion was inevitable, considering the geographical advantage of the city.

He urged the aspirants to adhere to the dress code of the industry and carry themselves with élan. Health and fitness were two important aspects for air hostesses to excel in the profession. Air hostesses had scope in other allied departments in the industry.

Dearth of qualified staff

There had been a dearth of pilots, air hostesses and stewards. The industry’s growth had triggered development of medical tourism and travel agencies. Air travel was no more a luxury and had become common even among middle-income groups, he said.

The institute’s centre head, Anju George, presided.
