Customs officials at the airport here on Wednesday seized around 300 grams of gold biscuits concealed in the rectum of a 15-year-old Sri Lankan national.
The boy landed here in a Mihin Lanka flight at about 8.30 a.m. along with his mother and brother.
The officials suspected him of carrying foreign substances in his body after making him walk through a metal detector. He initially denied having indulged in the crime, but accepted it only when arrangements were made for a medical test. The gold biscuits recovered from his rectum were valued at Rs.8.60 lakh, according to airport sources.
