The health department has taken steps to outsource the paramedical and sanitary services for the Erode Government Hospital, Director of Medical Services S. Paranjothi has said.
The hospital faces shortage of paramedical and sanitary staff. The department has advised the hospital administration to outsource paramedical and sanitary services and ensure delivery of quality healthcare services to the people, he has said after inspecting the facilities in the hospital here on Friday.
The approach roads to various blocks in the hospital would be improved and funds for the road works will be allotted shortly, he added.
Steps had also been taken up to control the stray dog and rat menace in the government hospitals in the State, he said. The Director said he had been inspecting the facilities available in the government hospitals and primary health centres across the State and noting down the grievances of the doctors, employees and patients.
Earlier, he inspected the Bhavani Government Hospital and the Primary Health Centres in Chithode and Kavunthapadi.
Joint Director of Health N. Sengottaiyan, Deputy Director of Health C. Sekar and senior officials were present.
