Addition, deletion or modifications in the details appearing on electoral rolls is now made easy.

Voters can walk into any of the Election Commission-authorised private browsing centres in the district to get it done for a nominal fee. The application can be submitted at the centre with necessary documents.

A trained person in the centre will scrutinise the documents and enter the details on the Election Commission (EC) website.

The online submission of applications would be processed by the Election Commission and necessary changes would be made.

For addition of name, deletion, modification, transposition, and registering a complaint, applicants have to pay Rs. 10 a form. The cost of taking printouts is Rs. 3.

For carrying out searches and taking print outs the results, Rs. 2 is charged.

Commission officials said that ‘Voters Common Service Centre’ were established after proper police verification of owners.


A training programme was held at the Collectorate here on Saturday for the representatives of these centres.

District Collector K. Maharabushanam said that the system would help in ensuring maximum enrolment of voters. M. Rathnasamy, Revenue Divisional Officer, Sankagiri, conducted the training.
