The State government has advised travellers to Sri Lanka to get vaccinated against A (H1N1) Influenza (swine flu) 2 - 3 weeks before the travel since the influenza cases have been reported in that country.

A government release said vaccination was available at the King Institute of Preventive Medicine, Guindy, Chennai, on all days from 11.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

If any traveller develops flu like symptoms – fever, cough, cold and sour throat – while travelling, they should take treatment in Sri Lankan government hospitals.

On return from Sri Lanka, if any one develops flu like symptoms they should immediately contact the doctor for guidance and treatment.
