NAGAPATTINAM: Government school students with the highest score in the SSLC exams are eligible to be selected for admissions in a private school of their choice across the State at the behest of State Government. The financial assistance for higher secondary education would be provided by the government.
Accordingly, a total of 10 students, including three girls and as many boys from backward communities (BC) and a girl and a boy each from Most Backward Communities (MBC) and Scheduled Caste (SC), would be selected.
They will get an annual financial assistance of Rs.28,000 each year for the two years of higher secondary education. The annual family income of students seeking assistance should not exceed Rs.1 lakh. Interested candidates are required to contact the Welfare Officer for Backward and Scheduled castes at the Collectorate, a release stated.
