An ‘Alumni Centre' was inaugurated at Government College of Technology here on Sunday. Alumni of Government College of Technology have contributed towards setting up this centre at a cost of Rs. 2 crore.
According to a release, the centre is a multi-purpose building that will be used for placement activities and get-togethers of alumni.
S. Meganathan, alumnus from the 1975 batch and Founder and Chairman of Rajalakshmi Educational Institutions, Chennai, inaugurated the centre.
An alumni meet followed the inauguration.
The newly elected office-bearers of the alumni association were – president - A.K. Anwar Batcha , vice-presidents - C.V. Lakshmi Narayanan and V. Lakshmiprabha, and Secretary - T. Meenambal.
The alumni of the college have been actively sponsoring the education of deserving students, rank holders, and students with disability.
