TIRUCHI: The State government has allocated a sum of Rs.145.32 lakh under the ‘Namakku Naame’ scheme to take up developments works with public contribution in panchayat unions, town panchayats, municipalities and corporation areas.

An official press release said as per the revised guidelines construction of classrooms and laboratories and toilets in government-aided schools and colleges would require a minimum of one-third contribution from the public. The rest of the amount could be taken as government subsidy to carry out the work.

More information in this connection could be obtained from the District Collector, Project Officer, District Rural Development Agency or the respective Block Development Officers, Executive Officers of Town Panchayats, Municipal Chairman and the Corporation Commissioner.
