Expressing concerns over the hike in fuel price, the Janata Dal (Secular) staged demonstration in front of BSNL office here on Tuesday evening. The demonstrators also projected a series of issues including frequent power cuts, slow progress of underground drainage works, irregular supply of drinking water, dumping of wastages on streets and roads and spillage of water following the breakage in pipe lines and sought the attention of the authorities concerned to sort out the problems immediately. The agitating members also demanded the newly established corporation buildings to be named after Rao Bahadur Cruz Fernandez. The demonstration was led by A.M.D. Velmurugan, district president, JD (S). M. Chockalingam, state general secretary, M. Kamaraj, town president were present.
