Four persons were severely injured in a group clash at Ramasamypuram near here on Sunday.

There was a clash between two groups belonging to different communities at a liquor shop last week. The animosity continued and a clash erupted between the two groups on Sunday. Both sides pelted stones. G. Muthupandi (30), Gurusamy (50) and V. Marimuthu (38) both from Rathnapuri Nagar here, sustained severe injuries and were admitted to the Government Hospital here. In the rival group, Y. Vetriselvan (29) of Veerampatti was taken to the Government Hospital here and later shifted to the Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai.
