Four child marriages were held in A. Pallipattii village, near Harur, early Wednesday morning. Thirteen people, including the grooms, and their parents have been arrested.

Asra Garg, Superintendent of Police, said that the police received a secret information regarding the marriages. The police, along with the District Social Welfare Officer, went to the place and arrested those relatives responsible for the child marriages.

A case has been registered under sections 9, 10, and 11 of Child Marriage Act 2006 against 19 people. The arrested were remanded in judicial custody.
