SALEM: The Tamil Nadu Retired Revenue Officers' Association has planned to spread awareness among the people about the Right to Information Act.
A resolution in this regard was passed at the central executive committee meeting of the association held here on Sunday, a release said.
In another resolution, the association members appealed to the State Government to appoint retired revenue officers as honorary magistrates for the disposal of cases pertaining to lands and allow them to practice as Revenue Administrative Practitioners, as in the case of commercial tax department. They also wanted the Government to provide 50 per cent concession in the bus ticket fare to senior citizens and include all private hospitals for reimbursing medical expenditure for the retired revenue officials.
The association also expressed its readiness to serve in various administrative and advisory committees, formed in the State and district-level for assisting the government. Association State president A. Raju presided. State general secretary K. Nagasubramaniam read the report.
