The forest department officials on Saturday released the photograph of two unidentified persons, with one of them carrying a gun, moving illegally inside the Anamalai Tiger Reserve area, which falls under Tirupur district.

The photograph was captured by one of the camera traps set up inside the forest for the home study of tigers and other wild animals.

Reward announced

Deputy Conservator of Forest M. Dhanaraj, who is also the deputy director of Anamalai Tiger Reserve, told The Hindu that those who gave information about the two persons would be rewarded suitably.

“Carrying of weapons by unauthorised persons and trespassing into forest area attract punishment under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972,” he added.
