: Foolproof security has been made at the counting centre, according to Anil Kumar Giri, Superintendent of Police.

He told The Hindu on Wednesday that for the purpose of providing foolproof security to the counting centres, three zones have been earmarked, namely inner perimeter, middle perimeter and outer perimeter and more than 500 policemen had been posted at Syed Ammal Engineering College, where the electronic voting machines and control units for Ramanathapuram, Paramakudi, Mudukulathur and Thiruvadanai constituencies were kept. He said that the inner perimeter was the zone where the EVMs were kept in strong rooms and guarded by the armed personnel of the Central Para Military Forces (CPMF).
