Consuming natural foods advocated for saving costs on treatment of diseases

The consumption of natural food such as fruits, and food made of native vegetables and greens, and cereals such as ragi and maize holds the key to solving the economic crisis which the country faces on account of the government’s increased expenditure on treatment of diseases caused by lifestyle changes, especially the change in food habits and dress styles, according to T. Anandan, former Director of the Central Siddha Research Institute, Chennai.

Health Ministry’s challenge

Speaking at a Siddha and Homoeopathy Medical Camp organised by Welfare Trust at the Suryodaya Aided Elementary School in Gudiyatham recently, he said that tackling diseases caused by lifestyle changes is the biggest challenge facing the Healthy Ministry today.
