Synthetic surface for two tennis courts
RAMANATHAPURAM: The work on laying synthetic surface on two tennis courts at the Seethakathy-Sethupathy stadium here would commence within a week, said the Collector, T.N. Hariharan.
Inaugurating the flood light facility at the tennis court at the National Academy School here on Saturday, he said preliminary process for starting the work had already been initiated.
It was expected that it would be completed within three months.
Expressing happiness over the provision of flood light to the third tennis court in the town, Mr. Hariharan said it would not only improve the standard of tennis but also provide opportunities for conducting big level tournaments in Ramanathapuram.
The District Revenue Officer, K. Balasubramanian, T. Aravindaraj and Chelladurai Abdullah, president and secretary of the Ramanathapuram District Tennis Association took part.
Earlier, Mr. Aravindaraj gave away certificates to the participants, who attended summer tennis coach camp.
