The Kanyakumari town panchayat has placed floats around Triveni Sangamam (confluence three seas — Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea) with an intention to saving the life of both domestic and foreign tourists in the event of any accident.

The devotees as well as tourists who used to take bath at Triveni Sangamam were often dragged by giant waves.

To avoid the recurrence of such accidents in future, if any, the town panchayat officials had placed them to warn tourists not to cross the floats as Kanyakumari is witnessing unprecedented rush of Ayyappa devotees.

Apart from that, the officials had also installed caution boards near Triveni Sangamam.

The patrolling police have also been asked to monitor closely the bathing ghats at Triveni Sangamam.
