Patrol vehicles flagged off

In an effort to regulate traffic and step up crime prevention measures, the rural police have inducted five patrol vehicles into service on Wednesday. Superintendent of Police Ashwin M. Kotnis said that accident-prone areas in the district were identified and these vehicles would be on patrol duty round-the-clock. Patrolling would be carried on the State highways that include, Salem - Yercaud, Omalur - Sankagiri and Attur - Thammampatti. The 63-km long stretch National Highway from Ayodhiyapattinam - Coot Road would be patrolled by two vehicles.
