Five students of the Government Law College, Vellore, commenced an indefinite fast outside the college campus here on Thursday in support of their demands which included among other things the support of the Indian government to the U.S.-sponsored draft resolution against Sri Lanka in the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) meeting later this month. The other demands of the students include declaring Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa as a war criminal by the UNHRC and conduct of a referendum by the Sri Lankan government over the issue of the formation of a separate Eelam.

Besides, 10 students of the college observed a one-day token fast in support of the same demands on Thursday.
