For all seven constituencies in Tuticorin district
Tuticorin: A total of 9,29,852 electors are there in the district, according to the final photo electoral rolls published for all the seven Assembly constituencies with January 1, 2008, as the qualifying date.
According to official sources, the total number of voters has increased vis-À-vis the draft photo electoral rolls published in November last by 17,775.
A total of 14,618 names figured in the draft rolls were deleted suo moto, owing to shift in residence, absence during verification and death, while 32,393 names included during the summary revisions held prior to the publishing of the final rolls.
Constituency-wise, Tuticorin has the largest electorate of 1,99,342 among all the seven segments in the final rolls, while Ottapidaram has the lowest electorate of 1,11,704.
The number of electors figured in the final photo rolls for the other constituencies is: Vilathikulam- 1,25,144; Kovilpatti- 1,32,873; Sattankulam – 1,15,773; Tiruchendur- 1,33,048; Srivaikundam -1,11,968. The final photo electoral rolls are available for verification at the Collectorate, the offices of Revenue Divisional Officers, the municipal offices, the offices of Village Administrative Officers and the taluk offices. .
Of the total electorate in the district, 9,22,245 electors are in possession of Electors’ Photo Identity Card.
The remaining voters, totalling 7,607, should come forward to capture images for EPIC as soon as the Election Commission issued necessary notification, sources said.
