: A talent reward examination - ‘FIITJEE Talent Reward Examination (FTRE) 2012' – was organised at M.M. Higher Secondary School here on Sunday by the Coaching institute FIITJEE and The Hindu Education Plus .

A total of 454 candidates took part in the day-long examination, in which they would be administered tests in IQ, mathematics and science. The candidates had come from many places including Tirunelveli, Sivaganga, Rajapalayam, Ramanathapuram and Sankarankoil.

According to organisers, two lakh students were taking the exam across the country including around 15,000 students in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Of this, Chennai alone accounted for around 6,000 students. Cash scholarships and medals and tuition fee waiver would be given by the institution based on the candidate’s performances. The day-long examination was aimed at the students of classes V to XI and would test them in IQ, mathematics and science.
