The fast is in protest against the delay in payment of salaries for April

Five women employees of the Hindustan Photo Films (HPF) manufacturing company who had been on an indefinite fast at Indunagar near here since Tuesday were arrested on Thursday.

The fast was in protest against the delay in payment of salaries for April and to urge the Centre to revive the company. Meanwhile, with concern growing over the sorry state of affairs in the ailing Hindustan Photo Films (HPF) near here, various organisations have started seeking the intervention of the Centre and leaders of various parties to bring to an end the woes of its employees who are yet to get their salaries for April.
