THANJAVUR: Collector M. S. Shanmugham has appealed to the farmers of the district to pay additional premium for crop insurance and get the full benefit.
In a press release issued here on Wednesday, the Collector said that under national crop insurance scheme, farmers are insuring their samba thaladi crop now by paying Rs. 103 for big farmers and Rs. 93 for non-loanee small farmers per acre as premium for a total insured amount of Rs. 10,312. They will get compensation accordingly depending upon damage of the crop.
