ERODE: Farmers affiliated to the Tamizhaga Vivasayeegal Sangam have urged the State Government to grant permission to manufacture ethanol.

In a resolution passed at a meeting held here recently, the farmers have said that the Union and State governments should permit sugarcane manufacturers to manufacture ethanol.


In another resolution passed at the meeting, the farmers have urged the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board to strictly implement its announcement of supplying 14 hours of two-phase power. It adds that the farmers’ body welcomes the TNEB’s announcement.

The resolution also warns trade bodies not to comment on State Government supplying free power to farmers and says that industries have basis to pass comments.
