DINDIGUL: Tamil Nadu Farmers’ Association will conduct state-level farmers’ conference from December 19 to 21 in the town, said Dindigul MLA K. Balabarathi.

Talking to press persons here on Tuesday, she said that the deliberations will commence on December 19. The conference will discuss various issues on agriculture, the condition of farmers and persistent threat to agriculture and agriculture lands. It will also chalk out plans to protect agriculture and the interests of farmers. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar will inaugurate the conference.

On the last day of the conference, farmers will take out a massive rally that would starts from R.M. Colony and reach clock tower, the venue of the public meeting. The conference will select the new president, secretary and other office bearers and state council members for next year.

A total of 525 representatives of the association from different parts of the State were expected to take part, she added.
