TIRUNELVELI: The ‘Farmers’ Festival’ organised at Valliyoor, about 50 km from here on Monday by the Department of Agriculture provided a right platform for the farmers to know about various government welfare schemes, technologies available in the market and with the department, subsidized State and Central Government assistances etc.

Unique opportunity

Above all, the function, conducted under the newly introduced Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), also gave unique opportunity to the agriculturists to have a look at more than 300 farm produces displayed on the occasion and to sharing of experiences with the farmers, who cultivated the record-breaking agriculture products.

The Radhapuram MLA, M. Appavu, appealed to the officials and the State Government to establish a ‘Farmers’ Market at Radhapuram for the benefit of flower cultivators.
