Traffic police personnel on Wednesday removed number plates that did not conform to rules from more than 150 vehicles. A drive was carried out along the Sathy Main Road from 11 a.m. to 12.45 p.m.

Those do not have the size specified in the Motor Vehicle Act, using stylish fonts, and those carrying names, pictures of companies, were removed.

“ From Thursday, Rs. 100 will be collected as fine from first-time offenders, Rs. 300 for the second time, and a recommendation will be made to the Regional Transport Officer to detain offenders for violating the Motor Vehicle Act,” the police said.
