TUTICORIN: The district administration has launched a project for beautifying Government buildings in the district recently.

As part of the scheme, the Collector, R. Palaniyandi, planted 200 saplings of neem, gulmohur, naval, fig, pungan and vagai on 98 cents of land around the Collectorate.

The saplings were procured from the Departments of Agriculture, Horticulture and Forests.

The District Forest Officer, L. Nadhan, and senior officials from agriculture and allied departments were present.

Official sources said that saplings of various trees would be planted near all Government offices in the district in a phased manner.
