Eye camp held for policemen

Superintendent of Police Pradip Kumar on Thursday inaugurated a one-day eye camp for police personnel here. It was organised with the support of Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai, which sent a team of ophthalmologists and pharmacists.

They tested the eyes of more than 500 policemen and their family members.

Mr. Kumar said policemen from different parts of the district took part. Treatments were given on the spot. Those, who had been found with major defects, would be sent to the hospital in Madurai for free treatment. He said it had been decided to conduct diabetic camp for the policemen. Process was on to find out the suitable doctors. It would be held very soon.
