Tuticorin: The 20th extension education council meeting of the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) was held at Fisheries College and Research Institute on Friday.

P. Thangaraju, Vice-Chancellor, TANUVAS, presided.

Reports on the extension activities carried out by various extension research centres of TANUVAS were presented by G. Thulasi, Director of Extension Education, and J.D. Jameson, Director of Research and Extension (Fisheries).

The extension activities currently undertaken were reviewed and strategies to improve extension activities for increasing the needs of the farming community discussed.

Nineteen progressive farmers of Krishi Vigyan Kendras of TANUVAS and fisheries extension centres attended it.

V.K. Venkataramani, Dean, FCRI, coordinated the programme.
