A government exhibition has been inaugurated at the VOC. College grounds in Tuticorin on Saturday evening.

Minister for Information and Special Programme, K.T. Rajendra Balaji inaugurated it in the presence of Tourism Minister, S.P. Shanmuganathan. The Ministers along with Collector M. Ravikumar, who welcomed the gathering, had a look at the exhibits.

J. Paramaguruparan, Director, Information and Public Relations, said objective of the programme was to familiarise the people with the State sponsored schemes.

Mr. Balaji, while addressing the gathering, highlighted the welfare schemes launched by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa through various departments.

Listing a series of welfare measures, he said the living standards of people had improved by and large. More than thirty stalls were put up at the exhibition venue and many spectators had gathered.
