DINDIGUL: Artisans from Hyderabad, Jaipur, Moradabad and Sahanpur congregated here on Wednesday to display their handicraft items that would satisfy the needs of all sections of people, including women and interior decorators. Bronze idols and decorative items from Moradabad and beautifully carved teak furniture and wooden items from Sahanpur are on display at Kalanjali, a handicraft exhibition.
Precious stone studded bangle, necklaces and ear rings and jewellery made in panchalokas and chutidhars and saris from Rajasthan are also available to tempt young women to fill their wardrobe. Jaipur bed spread, pillow covers, silk paintings, cushion covers, terracotta and porcelain items, Kalamkari paintings and Kalahasthi wall hangings are real attractions to interior decorators and home makers.
Kurthas and pyjamas exclusively ranging from Rs.250 to Rs.400 are displayed for young men. Multi-coloured wooden dolls, hosiery and leather products are other items in the display. The exhibition, organised by Uttar Pradesh Handicrafts, Handloom and Artisans Association in the town is open till July 14.
