Development projects in Dindigul Municipality reviewed

DINDIGUL: Expedite all development projects, particularly underground drainage scheme, to enable people to enjoy the benefits of the scheme, said P. Senthil Kumar, Director of Municipal Administration.

He was reviewing various development projects of Dindigul Municipality here on Saturday.

Pollution of drinking water source at head works, meant for combined drinking water scheme for Dindigul and six town panchayats, on Cauvery River bed in Karur, owing to indiscriminate discharge of effluents from processing industries, poor quality of drinking water supplied to residents, failure in drawing required quantum of water from Athoor and Peranai drinking water schemes, worst condition of roads that were full of pits, bumps and pot holes within town limit and inconvenience of people over inordinate delay in completion of under drainage project were explained to the Director.

Spreading of malaria, absence of municipal health officer and slow progress in implementing underground water project, poor drainage facility for newly constructed gas-based crematorium at Nagal Nagar and delay in opening fully-finished abattoir were also briefed to Dr. Senthil Kumar.
