With Deepavali fast approaching, everyone is scrambling to complete their last-minute shopping, whether it is clothes, firecrackers or general supplies. This year too, there are a range of different exhibitions and stalls that will help make the shopping a bit easier.

If you have still not made your clothes purchases, there are a number of options you can choose from this year.

Sari destination

As usual, the Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation Limited exhibition-cum-sale has come to town. They have a large range of Mysore silk saris, and this year their speciality is the ‘vintage sari’, which was made over 50 years ago. The exhibition is located at Vijayentra Hotel on Kamaraj Salai near Balaji Theatre. The exhibition will be on till Saturday.

Other options for clothes include the PONTEX sale, which is located near the New bus stand. They are selling a range of bed sheets, pillow cases and other home furnishings. In addition, the Khadi Board is also holding a sale that is located on Kamaraj Salai.

For almost every other kind of Deepavali purchase, PAPSCO has set up sales at various places across Puducherry and Karaikal. They are selling everything from firecrackers to groceries, like palm oil and jaggery.

The PAPSCO sales are going on at Vaniyar Thirumana Nilayam in Villianur, Sri Amirtheswari Kalyana Mandapam in Madagadipet, VTB Mahal in Embalam, A.G Mahal in Madukarai, Kamala Nehru Thirumana Mandapam in Bahour, Sri Kanthimathi Thirumana Mandapam in Thirukannur, Kamaraj Thirumana Mandapam in Ariyankuppam and Marketing Committee Campus in Karaikal.

The PAPSCO Deepavali Special Bazaar 2012 is on ECR near Rajiv Gandhi Signal.

The bazaars will be open till November 12.
