CHENNAI: The Ashok Nagar police have registered an eve-teasing case against a 34-year-old man and are waiting for his discharge from a hospital to arrest him.

They said Baskar of Nagalkeni near Pammal used to harass one Tulasi of the same locality.

The woman moved to Pudur in Ashok Nagar after her husband’s death.

On Monday, Baskar came to Ashok Nagar and continued teasing her. Consequently, a group of irate local people secured him and was taking him to the police station.

On the way, he took out a blade and attempted to slit his throat. He was admitted to a private hospital in Porur.

A case under the Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, Tamil Nadu has been registered against him.
