Panel reviews various development works in district
The Estimates Committee of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly has expressed its concern over the slow progress in the implementation of underground drainage scheme in Pudukottai.
Addressing presspersons at the end of a review meeting with officials, P.G.Narayanan, chairman of the committee, said that the committee recorded its concern over the slow progress of the scheme.
Earlier, the panel reviewed the progress of various development schemes with district officials led by C.Manoharan, District Collector. The team visited the Government College of Education, Dr.Ambedkar hostel, Government Arts College for Women , the bio farm at STAMIN unit in Kudumiyanmalai, the State Horticulture Farm.
They also inspected the work on the construction of overhead tank with three lakh litre capacity at Poonga Nagar, sewage treatment plant, and setting up of water mains at Ammayapatti pumping station.
The other members included P.Dhansingh, A.Pappa Sundaram, T.Indira Gandhi, S.Kamaraj and Thanga Tamilselvan, MLAs.
