: The Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre, Mahendragiri, situated 60 km from here on the Tirunelveli–Nagercoil Highway, has proposed to conduct an all-Tamil Nadu essay competition in Tamil and English for high and higher secondary school students (from 8th to 12th standard) as part of the World Space Week celebrations to be organised between October 4 and 10.

Topic for this year's competition for 8th, 9th and 10th standard students is ‘Space applications for society' and the title for 11th and 12th standard students is ‘Fifty years of human space flight'.

Essay must be neatly handwritten by the participant on one side of the A4 size paper and it should not exceed 2,000 words.

The entries should contain the name, age, name of the school, class, parents' name, residential and school addresses and contact phone numbers with STD codes of the participants. Essays should be accompanied by a letter from the head of the school certifying that it was written only by the student.

Entries should be sent to The Senior Administrative Officer, LPSC, Mahendragiri (P.O.), Tirunelveli District – 627 133, Tamil Nadu on or before September 25. English and Tamil entries will have separate prizes, which will be distributed in a function to be held at LPSC, Mahendragiri during October 4 - 10. Prize winners will be intimated separately.
